The Second National Conference on PFAS will be held in Boston, June 10-12, 2019 at Northeastern University. The significant growth in the number of contaminated sites, public awareness, community organizing, public policy, advisories and regulation, scientific research, and media attention calls us to once again bring together the array of participants that made the first conference so successful. Dr. Linda Birnbaum, Director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, will be keynote speaker.

Community partner Testing for Pease will be hosting two information meetings about a new federally-funded study led by Silent Spring Institute called PFAS-REACH (Research, Education, and Action for Community Health)—an investigation into of the effects of drinking water contaminants (PFASs) from firefighting foams on children’s health.

Institute scientists will discuss a new study on health effects in children exposed to drinking water contaminated with PFASs from firefighting foams and provide an update on the Women Firefighters Biomonitoring Collaborative, which is investigating on-the-job exposures to chemicals linked with breast cancer.
